I've become a lobster...

I went to the ocean in rhode island on monday/tuesday w/ my friend janice. We were getting ready to go to the beach and she told me how she doesnt need to wear sunscreen, she's chinese and has beautiful olive tone skin. I remembered how I didn't get burnt on my cruise in mexico (forgetting that it was b/c there was no sun...) and though eh I don't really need it either, so I did a few sprays and then I was good to go.
So i forgot about the whole part where I am very pale and burn like hell! Afterwards my legs were so burnt that it was hard to straighten them.
When I got home I thought it can only get better but somehow it's just getting worse! I know this is sick...but my skin has actually bubbled right in the center of my chest. I haven't figured out how I'm going to wear a bra yet...luckily I'm working from home today.
Does anyone have any miracle practices to help make my skin go back to normal?

And here is to ben- I have FINALLY learned my lesson and will hide from the sun forever...because yes I will admit this time it is painful to be a lobster.

1) Ouch! No miracle suggestions. I just remember my mom rubbing vitamin E oil on me after a bad burn. I dunno why....and pinning a shirt around my neck like a bib instead of actually wearing the shirt. Then, I parked myself in front of the fan.

2) Alo vera (in suntan lotion sections) helps relieve the burn and can sometimes prevent pealing as well. Good luck, been there done that.

4) This is the best stuff of ALL TIME. and it smells soooooo good.
It keeps me from peeling profusely too. It says it helps you hold your tan longer, but I am not sure about that one.

5) I have started using pure aloe on my skin every day instead of lotion...I recover much quicker from the sun...although I don't burn very much. I swear by the aloe. I buy it from the local tree hugger grocery.

7) Another thought....you could try oatmeal bath. You can get that at CVS too. Sorry for thinking of that after you've already been.

8) Ouch! I've seen you red, but never blistering. I also recommend aloe vera. Poor baby!!!

9) I'd try and stay away from lotions and oils until the sting of the burn is gone... they "hold the heat" for a long period of time and can't actually make you hurt worse. Look for pure aloe vera gel... that will definitely cool you and aid the burn. Once the pain is gone, go crazy with the lotions and oils to help lessen the peeling.

10) Just seeing this, but if you're still red and in pain, try a wash cloth steeped in tea (let it cool down before applying). Something about the tannic acid helps take the sting out. Old home remedy from my Grammy, but I swear it works!
