TOM PETTY!!!!
I love nothing more than tom petty performing outdoors! I thought I was almost going to have to miss it b/c of the burn BUT i sucked it up and figured beer would take away the pain (even though it was the exact opposite of the water my body desperately needed!)
We had a group of about 15 and took cabs to meet up with some other friends who were tailgating behind the motel 6. Where the Dodge Center is in Hartford there are fast food places, hotels and car dealerships and somehow all the lots get turned into tailgating. I never thought about what the stores think...actually i went to the bathroom in burger king and i think there was a sign that said 15 dollars to party in their parking lot.
Steve Winwood opened but i either missed it or don't remember most of his act. then came my FAVORITE...TOM PETTY. His songs mean its summer to me and it was a beautiful night!
the only bad thing is that it went so quick...when you get so into it and its just one great hit after another the next thing you know its over!
i'm jealous cause my roommate is following them to Mass and seeing them again Saturday.
I also heard a rumor that this might be his last summer touring..which would be horrible!

1) I'll bet Tom Petty doesn't quit touring. What would he do? Sit in a rocking chair at the old folks home? Rockin out will keep him young!

Amber Friday, June 13, 20086) Dylan loves music and rocking out, if we could just get around that 7:30pm bedtime. :) Glad you had fun, I would love to see Tom Petty. We are considering getting tickets for Journey this summer. I think Denny is sick of me singing "Don't Stop Believin" to him.
