Team Fun victory..well sort of!
Last night the One Hit Wonders played Margatoid...a super competitive team in the league. We were scheduled to play them about a month ago but then they never showed up and instead of being a forfeit and our only win of the season they somehow managed to have it rescheduled and not count because they want to have an undefeated season yadda yadda. We were not happy but what can you do... SO we had to play them last night and they were SERIOUS!
BUT the major twist was that we were neck to neck all game!!! At the end of the 5th we were down by a couple runs and we were feeling good. (Every other game by the end of the 5th the Ump tells us about the mercy rule and how we can stop now b/c we're so far behind, but we always decline and keep playing...cause we're team fun!) Then in the 6th they got 10 runs and we thought it was all over...but then that same inning we got 12!!!!!!!!!!
So basically it came down to the final inning they batted first...we needed 3 runs to win, which we thought there was a good chance....didn't go down like that but we still celebrated like hell and it felt like a victory to us! ( I should mention I couldn't really play because of my burn so that might of helped contribute to the success!)
I would say it was a victory and my teammates are so nice too...I dont know most of them cause I'm just a guest on the team but when we went out to the bar everyone was generously buying pitchers and nachos b/c we did so good!
Next week we play my roommates team and he has some cocky a**holes on his team that think they are hot shit so I can't wait to see what goes down!
