farewell Matt!
Tonight was a sad night..well bittersweet is the more appropriate term!
one of my closest friends is moving to san francisco. I'm so happy for him, he's starting the next phase in his life and he's more than ready for it, but i'm going to miss having him always around in CT.
He's just one of those truly nice guys and such a good friend. He hasn't had the best of luck figuring out his plan in life, but along that journey there has been amazing memories and so much fun! AND it's so awesome that he's taking the big leap of moving across the whole damn country!
Reflecting back on some of my favorite times with Matt include going to his senior prom with him....listening to him play guitar and sing lead to "Take the Money and Run" by Steve Miller Band...and most of all the random adventures he'd always be up for. The best times were exploring London w/ him, partying in NYC, and his random visits to Boston when I lived there.
I just hope he knows how much he's loved and will be missed by all of us. Luckily we've had two going away dinners and a going away BBQ in the last two weeks and have really gotten some last great memories!
(You can tell the woman taking the picture was smoking a cigarette at the same time!)
As you can maybe tell...i'm the sentimental type. But Cheers to Matt and his new life adventure!!!
Also...look out you Springfielders...Matt is driving right about now with our friend Mike who is going cross country with him, and their first stop is....SPRINGFIELD!

1) I have lots of stories to tell about Matt, but I will keep those locked away in my memory for now. I'll miss seeing him sprawled out on our family room sofa after a late night. Matt is truly a unique and talented person. His rendition of the song Imagine is absolutely brilliant! I hope he enjoys living in the bay area. Good luck Matt!!!!!!

2) Welcome to the west coast, Matt! Hope you enjoy SF as much as my friend, Don, who moved there several years ago after taking every vacation in SF because he loved it so much there. We still miss Don but he's still loving SF and his friends there.
