UCONN FOOTBALL!

UConn football makes me oh so happy!
I got season tickets this year but missed the first two games and finally on Friday night I went to my first game!!!

One of my favorite parts is the tailgating!

Then once in we snuck right on down to the front!

This week the team played Baylor...who I had never heard of and didn't know where they were from. It was an out of conference game and it turns out they're from good ole Texas!

Luckily UConn won by four points!!!!!

Yay for football season and beautiful Rensselaer Field!!!

1) Wasn't Skip Holtz the football coach at UCONN, one time? It looks like you Huskey fans like to tailgate as well as we NC State fans do. An update on Skippie on Saturday, his ECU Pirates met defeat in Raleigh. NC State will be playing UCF next week in Raleigh at 19:30 hrs on ESPNU and if watch you see what tailgating is like.

By, the way, Baylor is a Baptist College in WACO,TX.

What kind of food do you people when you tail gate at U CONN?
Tailgating food at NC State is Pork BBQ,Fried Chicken,Bourbon,Bud, and other associated Adult Beverages, plus those for children and teetotlers.

2) My junior year in college 1987, UConn was up by 13 points with under a minute left at Yale. Springfield native Kelly Ryan put on an outstanding performance and led the Bulldogs over the Huskies. A game I wont forget.

3) Rick was "Skippy' Holtz the coach then? The only UConn coach that I familiar with is Jim Calhoun.

5) I should know more about the coaching than I do... I also only know Calhoun as my male bball coach and Geno as the female bball coach!
I haven't had the privilege of seeing Yale play Uconn in my college days...but every year we go to the Yale-Harvard game which is too fun.
Bean- tailgating is very fun- I basically do whatever the people I'm going with want to do. Always lots of drinking games, but sometimes we have classy tailgates with really good food and other times just dogs and burgers. My new favorite thing to do at tailgates is play ladderball. Its a really easy game to setup and its so fun!

6) Amber U Conn will have a lot of fan support when you play UNC. The ABC fans will pulling for you against them. In North Carolina an ABC fan is any one that pulls for any team but UNC.

11) Having lived in Virginia, I am familiar with JMU. They played Dook down here in the last four weeks and won. Amber, we have massive tailgating, with everything from small grills to Motor Homes. The gates open 5 hours before game time, and there is no telling how long after the game is over the partiers stay. What makes our stadium so nice is that we have probably 15,000 parking spaces with in walking distance of the stadium. The stadium is adequately equipped to handle the human needs both inside and outside of it.
