Broken Camera!

I'm so mad because this weekend my camera broke! It still works per se but the screen is what broke and since there is no little view finder I can't see what picture I'm taking or what buttons I'm hitting! I'm so sad because I ALWAYS take pictures...you could even call me that annoying girl at the party making everyone smile and taking all the pictures of the things that everyone was hoping would be forgotten in the morning!

I can't decide whether I should start winging it and hope for good pictures or if I should go out and get a new camera. I've had two sony digitial cameras which both broke fairly quickly. This was an Olympus camera which I've only had for a year and I've been pretty happy with it besides the fact that it takes regular double AA batteries, which I wanted when I bought it, only to find out it uses up batteries in no time! I have to go out with at least 6 batteries cause I always know its going to die!

So does anyone have any recommendations?? I don't want to spend a lot of money because there are pretty good chances I'll drop it, get it wet, or have it break on its own in the next year. I suck at taking photos anyway, so I just need something easy and cheap to make me happy!

But here are the last photos from my beloved olympus camera:

Saturday day we surprised my roommate Corey at a vineyard that had live music and great wine!

Then a group of us went to a comedy show in Hartford followed by a little shindig at our house.

The birthday girl and her boyfriend

Laura, Emily, Meg, Corey, Morgan!

Alyssa and Sheila

Everyone enjoying the birthday cakes!

Then someone brought a pinata
Birthday boy got a good swing
Emily!

Alyssa could not wait to get in on the action!!

Laura and Ryan

I love this photo cause it makes it look like we have a ton of people at our house....but instead its just everyone crammed into our hallway

Sheila, Kate and Corey!

My favorite photo....if this doesn't look like a happy birthday girl that I don't know what would! (notice the pink scrunchie!!! there were very random things in the pinata...including bright pink scrunchies!)

THEN THE CAMERA DIED!

1) If you find a camera you love and it has positive feedback, then by all means go with it. I'm a Canon lover and have a Rebel XT (my husband has the D40, I believe), but go with your heart. Good luck and fun photos!

2) Amber are you and your mates going to make the Road Trip to Chapel Hill this weekend? It is only about 800 miles from UCONN. If you do make it, why don't you stop in Raleigh first, and to Glennwood South?

6) I love my Koda Easy Share too. Inexpensive and takes really good photos. I might graduate to a "big girl" camera this year though. It depends a lot on Santa. I can't stand the thought of you not adding fun pictures to Humzoo.
