Rutgers Homecoming

This weekend I had a big trip planned! Back in August I went with my best friend Linz to NJ to move her cousin Carrie into college. We got the idea then to come back for homecoming because Rutgers was playing UConn in football! I gathered up a large group of my fellow UConners from undergrad and we went to the armpit of America for the weekend!

The bad part was that it was a 12 o'clock game, that meant we had to go down on Friday night and then on Saturday morning we only had a couple of hours to tailgate before the game! And it was FREEZING cold!

Then once in the game... I started out in the UConn section up high

but then decided it would be more fun to be up close with Linz and her cousins in the Rutgers student section! I surprisingly didn't get booed!!!!!

I guess here is where I'm suppose to mention that UConn missed two kicks and lost to Rutgers.... who has been a horrible team this year!

After the game we were sooo tired and Linz and I split ways with the UConn friends and went for the freshmen college experience! It feels like a looong time ago that we were living the dirty dorm life, but we went back and napped then had a classic dining hall dinner. We got ready with Linz's cousin Carrie and her sister Kelsey, a sopohmore at James Madison who came up to meet us. Then out we went, Linz and I pretending not to be 23... and it was quite a funny night!

first the college shuttle to go out...and then some random house parties

and lastly the night ended with the grossiest yet most enjoyable thing ever. The cousins told us they never ever bring money with them when they go out because they'll end up spending it at the grease trucks. Yet they said we had to get grease trucks as visitors because it is a token Rutgers experience.
Grease trucks are all these trucks in a parking lot that sell sandwiches, but not just any sandwiches...really nasty greasy ones. They all just have weird combos of greasy fast food type things. I put a picture...only to show how gross!!!
We got a sandwich for all four of us to share... on this nasty but oh so tasty sandwich was french fries, mozzeralla sticks, chicken fingers and honey mustard! It was the weirdest thing ever but pretty tasty! The girls are smart to never carry cash because it is so bad for you!

So all in all it was good to hang out with the college friends and tons of fun to spend time and visit with the girls!

4) I'm so jealous!! My school's Homecoming was this weekend, and I had so much to do that I couldn't go back. Your pictures make me wish I would've said "Screw it!" and gone anyway.

5) Rutgers the home of the Scarlett Knghts, who were supposed to have a world beater football team, but got beat by the mighty tarholes, the same team that beat Amber's UCONN team. Most famous Rutgers alumni that I have ever known was "Jimmy V". How many seats does that stadtum hold? It looks like doesn't hold as many as a "Big Time College Stadium" holds, poor NCState holds 62,000 and 34,500 of the seats are sold out prior to the season.

6) At the football games in the South, we don't have to buy food off of "Grease Trucks", we cook our own or we buy it from various people before hand or in the stadium. Speaking of "Grease Trucks", they are opearated by Mexicans and they serve food at Construction Sites.
