Weekend in PA!
Last weekend I went to visit one of my favorite people, Emily Buckley! She is so special to me not only because she is fun, amazing and such a good friend, but because of the influence and affect of meeting her has had on my life! Emily and I met at a leadership day conference in 10th grade and realized that we live about twenty minutes away from each other. That one day we made enough of a connection that we ended up being friends and she introduced me to all of her high school friends and the rest is history! If it wasn't for Emily I would of never known my roommate Corey, some of my closest friends or Biker Ben!!!
On Thursday night I drove to West Chester, PA where she is currently getting her Masters. We decided not to dress up and celebrate Halloween in that fashion but instead to do fun halloweeny things and pass out candy in her Condo complex! Friday we went shopping all day, bought tons of Halloween candy, and searched 4 stores for our favorite Halloween movie... HOCUS POCUS!
She made a fabulous dinner and then we made homemade Halloween decorations for the door (this is when I missed living with a girl!) Next came the waiting for trick-or-treaters... we bought Halloween glasses and each our own favorite bottle of wine...and just WAITED FOREVER!
All night we only had three trick-or-treater groups knock on the door... we both thought that a Condo complex would be a jackpot for kids but they were MIA! The funny twist though is that the last person to come was the neighbors and they ended up inviting us over! We were kind of restless so we ended up partying the rest of the night away with her late 30s neighbors with two kids! Haha so we had a memorable Halloween!
Next morning we dragged ourselves out of bed and went into Philadelphia!! I was pretty excited having only been there once before and not to see the sights, also because it was the weekend before the election! Phili was beautiful and fun! We saw all of the important sights and I ate my first Phili Cheesesteak ever!! I actually kinda liked it!
It was harder to take pictures of buildings without an LSD screen...and the ones at the end of the night got really funky...but I still have some memorable shots!
My favorite thing in Phili was Elfreth's Alley! It is the oldest residential street in America and people actually own the properties! It was such a beautiful street!
All in all a great weekend!!

2) Sounds like a great trip and a great friend to share the weekend with. Sorry you were MIA with the trick'o'treaters. Seems like that happened to a lot of folks. What did you do with all that candy??? :)

4) a few things happend with the candy...some we crushed and tried to put around the carmel apples, most of it went to the neighbor's kid (i bet they loooved us for that!), and emily actually returned all the unopened bags!

5) Sounds like the best Halloween ever! I would have eaten the candy. We don't get trick or treaters any more, but I still buy the candy and at 9 pm the gorging begins. Oink Oink!!!! Emily is an awesome friend.
