flight victory!
I have had a problem with this flight I had booked a couple months ago and today it finally turned out great!!!
I'm going on a little vacation with my mom and sister in a couple weeks. When we first made the plans 3 months ago my job was to find the flights. Ever since Ben moved out to Illinois I have gotten really good at finding cheap deals and comparing flights. For this particular trip I needed to get us to San Diego, but the first problem was finding 3 seats...I realized that I get good deals because I'm always flying solo...BUT I was able to find a flight for under $300 each...which I think is a steal!
THEN THE PROBLEMS CAME
I guess the first mistake was that I booked through cheaptickets...always had been a friend in the past but not anymore!
We were flying Frontier out and Delta back and the problems started 2 months ago when I got an email saying our flight was changed. Our flight out to San Diego had been delayed making it so we got there in time to barely board the boat before it leaves! I was on the phone that day with cheap tickets for THREE HOURS.
Another issue with cheaptickets is the phone representatives.... I have no problem at all with where the people you are speaking with are from or who they hire to do the job...BUT...as long as you can understand what they are saying. I couldn't understand the guy and I am one that stays very patient. That day for three hours I never even got upset! I was telling Ben about the phone operators and I said that they were from India and I couldn't understand what they were saying...he questioned how I knew they were from India...and I did actually know because when they spell out your pin and passwords and say C as in Cat, the guy on the phone to make sure i heard the letter I said "I as in India". But enough about the hard communications cause I made it through!
So back to the original problem...our flight got switched but since it was by only a couple hours they couldn't put us on another flight unless we wanted to pay $700 extra for our tickets...which wasn't happening!
So we just left it and were worried.
Then about a month ago Frontier went backrupt...so we've been sitting on the edge of our seats scared it was going to be cancelled.
Well TODAY i got an email saying that our flights had been changed...I opened it up and now we had a flight from Cincinnati to San Diego, and no Hartford anywhere! I prepared myself for another conversation and called them up and today it took approximately 2 hours but finally it was a VICTORY!!!!
Conclusion: Our Frontier flight is no more, luckily Delta owns Frontier and isn't screwing passengers over and now we're on a Delta flight that gets us in at the original early time (the same exact flight I would of had to pay $700 for 2 months ago!)
I don't know how this happend but I'm so happy cause I'm no longer the one who almost made us miss the boat!!!!!
