The Mirror

We got the idea for this project something like 3 years ago. It started when we found this large mirror outside the dumpster at our apartment. We figured we couldn't let it go to waste so we took it and held on to it until this summer. Then we finally started working on the project.

I think I've decided I like the final product.

Oh by the way, Jim came home from work last night and instead of going to bed (it was 11:30pm) he put my new coat rack together! Isn't he great!

Amazing. I wouldn't have expected it to look so great from the start but it is much cooler than a regular mirror. Nice job!!

Love this - it looks great! What did you use for the grout?

What a great imagination you guys have! I want to see the rest of your house!

Thanks guys! :)

Meg- I'll have to ask Jim if he remembers what grout we ended up using. I know we stood in the grout aisle at Menards forever before trying to explain to an employee what we had in mind.

Tanya- It's a pretty great little bench. The front folds down to store shoes, but as you can see we (really, I) have too many shoes to fit in there.

China- You're welcome to come over anytime you're in the area. ;-)

Yea! You got a coat rack! That's been on the list for some time. Now I can hang my coat up when I'm there instead of tossing it on Frankie's beanbag chair.

Superb! I'm making a mental note to make one of those myself sometime. Thanks for the idea.

we used some kind of sanded grout to attach the mirrors to the board and then we used a silicone to fill in all the gaps between the mirrors. the whole thing was a little trickier than i was expecting but it came out pretty good.

Mirror is a lot harder to smash than i thought.
