Halloween FunHalloween at our house turned out to be a pretty good time this year. Jim decorated the porch as always. This year we had some new additions that I had been introduced to earlier in the season: http://www.humzoo.com/Ames/blog/53/
On Friday night, Jim and I were able to attend a friend/co-worker party at my friend Laura's house. It was so much fun. It was a costume party so I dressed up as a vampire. And Jim was my victim.
Many, MANY thanks to YammaSue and Uncle Andy for coming in to watch Liam so Jim and I could have some grown up time. It was really nice to be able to have fun and relax and know he was taken care of. I think we realized in the nearly one year that our little bundle of joy has been part of our lives, we have spent one afternoon on our own without him, so it was much appreciated to go visit friends and have adult conversations. Thank you, thank you, Yamma Sue!
On Saturday, we met up with Kati and Charlotte downtown for the Farmer's Market and Kid's Costume Contest. The place was packed, but the weather was nice enough and there were tons of cuties dressed up for Halloween.
Then Saturday night, Joe, Kati, and Charlotte came over for some Chinese food, scary movies, and handing out candy to trick-or-treaters. We watched Carrie (which I had actually never seen before) and took turns answering the door and passing out candy. We had some really adorable kids (and also some questionable teens.) My favorite, by far, was a little bitty Dorothy from Wizard of Oz who curtsied when she said trick-or-treat. I nearly emptied the whole bowl of candy in her basket. She was a doll.
Overall, we had a really great weekend! If only we didn't have to go back to work on Monday. ;-)
