Giant frickin' "laser"
Yet another one of the cool, yet tempermental and sometimes frustraiting enough it makes you want to learn every german cussword so you can talk to it in it's native language toys i get to use. And figure out how to fix.
The machine is a Trumpf Trumatic 3003 laser center with a TLF 2600 watt CO2 resonator. It was originally in John Deere's Ottumwa plant from 1993 to 2006. It will cut very precise lines in steel and other materials, automatically loads and unloads itself, burns a hole through a 300 sheet notebook instantly, and will throw more error messages and mysterious E-stops at you than you can shake a service manual at in no time at all.
Here is when it's working properly.
