American Idol (Top 11)

Anoop Dogg is back in the house! He rocked it tonight. Wow. That was in the league of David Cook doing Lionel Richie.

Danny was pretty good in parts; ditto Lil. I actually liked Adam's rendition of the Ring of Fire, though that is not my genre of music at all. Matt was great, but I didn't know the song.

One more note: having 4 judges has really hurt the show. You've heard that from me before, but I've noticed it takes even more away from the competitors (who the show should be focused on), and makes the judges too central. Especially when Simon and Paula get involved in absolutely stupid bantering. I'm going to stick with my prediction that at least one of them is gone next season- probably Paula. I still don't like Kara.

My bottom 3: Michael, Megan Joy (even with the flu, no free passes), Alexis. If I missed any of those, substitute Scott. Michael goes home before the sun comes up!

Oh, no, please not Scott. I'm really pulling for him. Adam's my favorite. His song tonight was pretty weird but for some strange reason I liked it. He just has it all all the time!! For me if any of them have to go - and I guess they do - it would have to be Michael, then Kris, then Megan. There are some great contestants this season! I hate to see any of them go. Top three Adam, Danny, Lil for sure.

As for the judges, I agree, Brian, that adding the fourth judge has not helped matters. It just drags things out longer and longer, especially when they say the same thing as they often do, and I absolutely can't stand Paula and Simon's stupid bantering. I like Kara just fine. At least she is much more mature than Paula and doesn't ever act stupid.

I loved Adam and Ring of Fire. I am a Johnny Cash fan and I think he would be pleased. Adam has that very dark, rocker thing going, and that's not my style, but the slower songs or ballads are sometimes nicely haunting.

Is Danny the blind singer that plays the piano? These two are my favorites after tonight.

China- the blind singer is Scott. Danny is the guy who sang, "Jesus, Take the Wheel"

wow, DialIdol says Allison is in the bottom 3. She wasn't at her best, but I thought it was good.

I told my wife last night that Allison reminds me of Paris Bennett a few seasons ago. Talented as all get out, but the age/maturity thing is going to catch her, eventually. She's no David Archuletta.

Aunt Nancy, I find it absolutely hilarious and frightening that Adam is your favorite.

Hey, Mark, maybe I have a dark side that you've never seen! I absolutely love Adam!!! His eyes remind me of Elvis. I think he has the same intensity as a singer not that I'm comparing his singing to Elvis' singing because they represent two different genres.

Allison was near the very bottom on dialidol last week too, Brian. I think she is an amazing talent. Hopefully she'll go on to a singing career no matter when she gets kicked off Idol.

I think Michael should go next but I don't think that will happen.

The reason tonight is a biggie is because the person kicked off won't get to go on tour with the Top Ten. All the rest of the remaining contestants will get to go on tour for sure.

Good call by the judges, not to save Alexis. I thought her singing tonight was not very good.

7 guys left, 3 girls

My top 5 are:
Adam, Anoop, Lil, Danny, and Matt

Totally agreeing about the judges, and I've thought all along this season that bringing Cara/Kara in was to phase Paula out. I disagreed that Alexis should have been the one to go vs. Michael, but he's more well-liked than she is, so I can understand that; however, he'd better step it up by next week!

My top five: Adam, Danny, Lil, Kris and Matt - Danny for the win, hopefully.

I hate the new rule....whereby the judges can save a contestant if they want to. I think it is such an awkward time when the contestant is announced and then the judges put their heads together and finally announce if they're going to save the person from being voted off. I can't imagine how uncomfortable that makes the poor contestant who is waiting to see if the ax is going to fall or not. I just don't like the whole setup anymore than I liked it last year when the contestant who just got kicked off had to sing a song. Does nobody have a heart on this show??

Anyway, I wish they could have saved Alexis. I think she deserved to go on tour as much as Michael does. Her song this week wasn't her best but I think she is loaded with talent. I wish her well.

My top 5 - ADAM, Danny, Lil, Kris and Scott with ADAM winning it all.

I still think some teenager has hacked !'s account with all of the love for the Drama Queen, Adam. Can someone look into this?

I think I am probably pulling for Danny at this point. I thought his praise was way overblown with "Hero" in the semi-final round, but the way he kicked some of that chorus to "take the wheel" the other night was amazing. I like Anoop a lot- but finishing 5th is about the best I see him doing.

!- I knew Alexis needed the performance of a lifetime to be saved last night. It fell way, way short.

Mark- Krispy Kreme addicts tend to walk a little on the wild side.

ADAM ruled tonight. That kid can do anything. He is simply amazing.....and oh, so handsome. I also thought that Scott came through tonight....very simple but powerful performance. I also liked Lil and Matt although the judges didn't. Danny was great. Boy, we've got some great talents this season! Megan is the obvious loser. What planet is she from?

I'm thinking Megan should have been booted long ago, but I'll bet she'll be safe tomorrow night and either Matt or Scott may go. Though Scott did resurrect himself in my mind this evening. And Allison had a great song, but a crappy outfit--who's styling these kids anyway?! Oh, and GO ADAM!! And Danny and Kris...
Angi   Tuesday, March 31, 2009
Wow, Angi, that's quite a prediction about Megan. I do think Matt makes the bottom 3, either he or Allison. Allison's intro was nice, but she did shout and it wasn't great.

Kris wowed me last night, I didn't think he was a possible top 3 guy, but that song was certainly there.

Big mistake for Kara to engage the heckler last night. It really made her look weak.

Meh, people like her, Brian, for reasons we can't see...or hear, obviously. I mean, how on earth has she made it thus far? She made the comment last night that [basically] despite what the judges had to say, she had fun on stage and liked her song. To which Simon retorted, "That's what you said last week." So? Yes, she said it last week, and SHE'S STILL HERE!! Must be some appeal for the voters, I guess.
