Pleasuring the Wife?
Ok, I know that life can be really "Strange" at times. Now, "Strange" things just seem to have piled up on me lately. I'm so covered up with so many guilt trips that I can look over to my left and see Termite, not our dog Termite, but real termites that are eating up the wall by the entry door. Wait till I tell the rest.

First, the coming digital TV change over struck fear in my Wife. She has been acting like those Super Bowl fanatics, running around with a tape measure to see what size of TV she could buy to replace the one in the living room. Don't know why, as we have a cable TV service and so we would not need a new TV, other than I would like a TV that has color once in a while, that would be nice. The current huge TV cabinet was purchased several years ago, large enough to be used as my casket after my demise, and came with the optional silk lining, don't those Trappist Monks think of everything.

Well the combination TV and Coffin has now been moved to the Garage, by the Princess's insistence. It took her and 4 of her friends to move it there. I wouldn't help her because I think its morbid to have a casket in the garage. Besides I have a black & white TV out there that I got from the Cornelius Habitat Restore dumpster 4 years ago, they had thru it out because it was so outdated, and even had a round screen and was in a wood case that looks like a 1920's upright radio. It works good on the cable hook up I ran out there.

Next I was ordered to get her a stand for the 48" TV she purchased. Holy Cow, I can build one!! I expressed my idea to my Princess and she bought it, worm, hook, sinker and fishing line. I laid it out, and she approved, as it was totally behind the foot print of the combo cabinet/casket. I think you can see the impression that the cabinet made in the carpet over the years. This will make the room seem twice as large.

There its level and ready for the new TV.

Woooo, now that I told her it is finished, she thinks my stand looks dorky, and wants it out of HER living room. OK~OK, I'll work on it some more. I nailed the shelf to the wall, wal~la, looking good. Got a tentative OK if I paint it. Done. Told her I just need 4 more Charlotte white pages phone books to finish it.

Ack ~ she replied, "Get out of my HOUSE ! Oh please give me one more chance, I replied. Went to work again, built and gave here this.

OK, I'm now off the hook, still in the house, but walking on eggs. That woman can make the hair on my neck standup. Then the weather changed this morning to cold with snow, here in Charlotte. I looked over at her at breakfast and asked her if she wants to go to Florida for the week, and drink Pina Coladas. Yas, Yas, I am a hero. She's in the bedroom packing a suitcase. Wow, I have been trying to figure out how to get to Florida for a Tin Can Tourist gathering near Tampa this coming week.

Oh ya, look at the photos, there is a two inch gap at the sides. Yas, Yas, when we get back she is going to return this set and get the 50 inch set.

Ha, I won, but I feel dirty taking advantage of her like this.

1) Have fun at th Tin Can tourist gathering. What kind of "tin can" do you have? We are going to the Springstream in May. It will be our first rally.
I think your new TV stand is A+.

2) It looks fantastic!! Now all you need is a little foliage on both sides to hide the power cord and the coax cable, and you’re in business!! Have Fun on your Trip!

3) Nah, JMD - all he needs to do is build a cabinet w/shelving beneath that TV stand, trim it and paint it to match, then set a couple of those components side-by-side and Voila! You'll never see those cords. Nice job, by the way!

4) I am loving for this situation to develop at my house soon. When it comes, I will do what I am told to do.

6) Or he could just build two more triangular cabinets to sit beside the component stand, and they could not only hide the cords, but also house DVDs and such. I'm sure Bubba is loving all of the super ideas we're giving his wife! HA!!

8) Bubba, I think that you are dealing with a bunch of "Men Haters" in this situation.
