July 2 - Kangaroo Kare - 41 days oldThis is a special video. Holding him is amazing, scary and a new experience for me. Since Chance is on trial breathing tests, I have been able to hold him twice with no breathing apparatus. We have to have an oxygen mask next to him for when he desats. Slowly but surely he is growing and getting strong.
He is so aware and bright eyed today. You can see him looking at his hand and then down his arm.."like WOW...what's this?" If he could only see the funny hat the nurse put on him...I mean...it's July 4th in a couple of days woman...not Xmas!! But he still looks too cute in it. His ear is also mushed down from the hat. His ear cartilage is so soft and not firm yet like ours. If he lays on one and it is flapped down it looks so funny and you fear it will stay like that but the nurses just press it flat again and it relaxes...still hate to see all folded I held him for an hour and 15 minutes before he had to be put back on his CPAP. He cried so hard (his whimpers are gaining in strength and sound but still so quiet and sweet) and threw a fit but relaxed once the nurse got him on his tummy.

3) Vicky, this video is so awesome that it brought tears to my eyes. You BOTH look sooooooo happy together. That is how it should be and WILL BE SOON! The more you hold him, the stronger he will get...I'm sure I don't need to write that because you must feel it when he lays his little head on your beating chest. Thank you very much for sharing this precious moment. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE...Lesley
