IRL Humzoo Meetup
Today I had the privilege of meeting my first real life Humzoo-er!

Dannie and I met at Birkdale with three of her grandchildren and my Cami. We planned to spend the morning at the fountains there, but it was a little cloudy and the children were cold.

So we headed over to Chik-filet for some nuggets.

We had a great visit. Dannie is just like I thought she would be. (I consider it a high compliment to really be the way you are perceived on the internet.) She is really sweet and fun to talk to She brought along three precious little ones....... So I guess I really met four Hum-zooers today.... Caroline, Gavin and Ella. They obviously adore her and since I do too, I think I'll start calling her "ree-ra" myself!

Here is a picture of all of us together:

Here is a shot of Ella showing Cami how to play in the fountain.

And finally, another view of the fountain. I think Dannie has other photos which she will probably add once she gets to her computer.

3) That's so neat that you two got to meet! I've been thinking that it would be cool to have a national meetup, though I know it would be impossible to get everyone's schedules to work out.

7) It was really fun and I can't wait to do it again. Have you and Cami been to the Raptor center? Its one of my favorite hangouts for the kids because it is pretty flat and its cool in the shade. The kids love all the birds-maybe next trip. I will get my pictures up later in the week.Reera

9) Oh I am so jealous! I would LOVE to meet Dannie, the twins, Cami, China Calling and the rest of the gang!! Someday....
There is always plenty of room at our semi empty nest/ B&B in CT if anyone gets a hankering to come to the east coast.

10) Find me a job there, Leslie, and maybe I'll move down the street (wouldn't expect you to keep me forever!) and bake for you weekly! :) You are very close to my favorite place to shop in Vermont. :)

11) Come on ahead...Don't worry about a job, I'll find you something. Can you weed as well as you bake?

14) If you weed I'll let you go wading in my koi pond. I have my doubts that you would actually leave the beautiful city of Portland.

16) I can weed, I can sometimes follow Linda's recipes, I can't sing or dance, I can dust, I can make you a BIG basket-might just work for a vacation! Remeber that in Sept of 2009 we will be having a funky Family Reunion in Flat Rock, NC at Camp Pinnancle. Sarah and Matt will have more information as time goes by. It is so much fun meeting your friends in person. I felt completely relaxed with China and we talked like we had known each other a long time (several months anyway:>)

17) It would be VERY hard to leave Portland and the Northwest area, but maybe for the right job... :) Dannie is much more talented than me, but...did I mention I bake? I'm also pretty decent with computer work though my hardware skills are a little rusty.
