Cami's Adoption
There are some technical difficulties with the dvd that was in the camera during the majority of our time in China. So this video freezes in about three spots. If you just wait, it will continue. I tried to use the freeze to my artistic advantage, so you can use the moment to let the story soak in, or enjoy the music.
A couple things to notice..... I used several clips of driving to symbolize the many long roads we went down in order to get to Cami. I also showed how everything in her life was stripped away on that fateful day in Nanchang. You will see her nanny leave. Then she will spend a moment with the orphanage director, Mr. Xiao. I thought it was sweet how he wiped her nose as familiarly as if he had done it often.
When we first arrived in the room, we were told we could not pick her up until the government official checked our passports against the official record. They never came back and told me when I could pick her up until it was time to go. I gave her cookies and we spent a long time looking at each other!
I hope this film tells the story of the day we met Cami and also tells the story behind the story...... a tale of bravery and loss. Cami is a courageous child. She is my hero.

1) That is just awesome and left tears in my eyes!
2) You just wonder what was going through her mind. I am so touched by the way your recognize that while she was gaining a family she was losing everyting she had known.
3) Very, very sweet. It is evident that Cami is, indeed, very courageous, and it must have been hard for you -- "taking her away." Yet, she would never have received the kind of love and attention your family is able to provide - or a family at all. She has quite a journey behind and ahead of her. Such blessings...
