Gardening Plain and Strong

Sigh,
The rains are coming to IL-Noise. It is cooling off out, so I have stopped planting the snapdragons, assorted marigolds, impatiens, and so forth. That would be a good interview question: What flowers do you like? Annual or Perennials? The answer could be insightful. For example, I obviously love the standards. Does this mean I love traditional and am unwilling to seek change? Or could it mean that simplicity rules my life. Interesting. It is kinda like assessing your grocery cart on a spontaneous run to the mega mart. Think about it....

Tonight we grill! Filets, garlic bread and other yummy things, I am excited.

Happy Mums Day y'all....

1) I love any flowers someone else plants and takes care of for me to appreciate them...what does that make me? :)

2) We spent approximately four hours in the yard this afternoon. The skies are getting darker here, too. I am really sore right now.

3) I'm aching from gard'n work too. Planted a couple of azalea bushes and repaired a bunch of bald spots in the front lawn.

4) As an "on-the-side" florist, I prefer my flowers arranged in a wedding bouquet or as a centerpiece vs. in the yard - is that strange? I suppose not because I'm not zoned for bees. I do enjoy my container garden each year: tomatoes, peppers, herbs, and the like. My mom enjoys her perennials, only having to plant a veggie garden each spring, whereas I like annuals. Happy Mother's Day all!!

5) My sister got all of the gardening genes and luckily passed them on to Denny. Plants have someone who will take care of them. Let's hope Dylan gets them from both Denny & Niki.
