WOW
If you think I'm really excited, your wrong. If you thought of the online roll playing game....I already want to hurt you. j/k

We have two accounts for this game in our home, which makes that second computer we bought completely necessary! The sales pitch went something like this: "You know, (insert name here) has a few accounts. He has one for himself, one for his wife, and another for their son. They spend time together playing, and that is their FAMILY TIME."

The other day I was on the phone with a friend of mine. A kindred soul. A non-player in an overzelous player's world. She's started playing, due to the presssures of her husband. All the wives are doing it! They get matching hair cuts and run instances together! I have a couple of characters myself, due to the pressures of my two youngest sons. Such low levels, I've been told they're embaressments to the log-in screen :(

So, now my friend is all excited, and getting into the whole game......and calling (dear God, we're going to hell in a handbasket) to SET UP A PLAYDATE BETWEEN OUR CHARACTERS! That's bad enough, but it gets much worse. My two youngest sons chase me down to the ONLY place in the house I can hear anyone on the other end of the phoneline. They refuse to leave until I promise and SIGN A CONTRACT IN BLOOD, that I will play this game at least one hour every week, to level up, and join a group with them.

Is this normal nowdays? I remember playing outside my house under some kind of bright yellow orb in the sky. I remember actually doing stuff myself, instead of watching my avitar do them?!?!

1) Wow - Crystal - not sure when you would find the time to play that much. I only have three kids and I feel like I never get a chance to sit down and do anything for myself unless I am at work and since you homescholl - that is like a full time job anyway

3) It's sad that I knew before clicking that this thread was about World of Warcraft. As much of a gamer as I am, I have never played it and have no real desire to. My games need to have a little more focus.

4) Yeah, I had no idea what the game was until I read Scott's comment above. Not into online gaming, and our kids aren't allowed on the Internet, but then again, they're only three years old and 16 months.

6) Ummmm, the boys are six and three. I have been totally blindsided by this game. I think it's a cult......"Join us, JOIN US!"

7) Since you play, I probably don't have to tell you this, but the presence of people of all ages and all nationalities on World of Warcraft at any one time pretty much guarantees that your 6 and 3 year old are going to be exposed to language and content that a 6 and 3 year old should not be exposed to. Your call, though. Heck, there might be parental filters that I don't know about.

8) The only online game I might play would be Scrabble and I guess I'm just not that competitive--I just like to play...not get into the winning part that much. But, having said that, I have games in my history so to each his own. Some enjoy them; some do not. It does sound like, from Scott's comment above, that the game is pretty adult for such young kids but I've been wrong about that too. I watched network TV at someone's house 7 years ago and was shocked at the language they can use on the network during "the family hour". Either the family hour has become passe or families are a lot more mature than when I was growing up!

Have fun with it if you enjoy it.
