Tell me what you think of humzOo
Hello,

I'm writing an article on humzOo founder Dave Heinzel for the Springfield State Journal-Register. I'd like to hear from some of you on what humzOo means to you. If you'd like your comments to be considered for publication, I'll need your real name, real age and real city of residence. If you want, you can email me your response and vitals. To keep this objective, it might be best if the respondees don't have a personal relationship to Dave or Denny. I'm up against a deadline, so act now!

1) HumzOo ROCKS! It's given me an outlet for the daily grind, as well as stuff that I'd normally internalize if no one in my circle of friends was available for a venting session i.e., the blog. There is also the bonus of having a plethora of different voices available to comment, give advice, suggestions, etc. to help when I need it, as well as to boost confidence, be a cheerleader, be a friend (though many have never met face-to-face), or simply to share hobbies, stories, opinions and love. Thank you D & D - you've made many folks connect in a wonderful way!

2) PS. Oh, and I have NEVER met Dave Heinzel in "real" life, only on the Internets...Denny either. :O)

4) Is there ANYONE on Humzoo without a personal relationship with Dave or Denny? Especially after the Rad weekend? They have to all be related or eternally bonded as friends for life after that.

I'm related so I'm not objective. I've admired Denny for years and love to support him in anything because he is so creative and smart and funny and good-looking (that last part he forces me to say whenever I talk about him). I never anticipated how much fun it would be writing blogs and sharing photos--and how addictive! (check out the blog on Humdingled http://www.humzoo.com/lgrant/blog/3/). I love checking out all the blogs and photos and comments as many times a day as I can sneak past my boss or get up early enough or stay up late enough to manage. Even the hot and serious blogs are interesting if not always entertaining in nature. I keep trying to explain it to people who haven't tried it. If anyone ever finds how to say it in a way that you don't get the "look" (oh...yeah...sounds like fun - not), let me know.

Denny told me it would be even better when I buy a Mac! (was he telling me the truth or just wanting to see his Apple stock spike again?)

That was all totally unbiased and unrehersed or scripted (did I read that like you told me, Denny?)

5) It makes me happy to blog here because at my old blog, I got about ZERO comments. At Humzoo, the whole community comes to my site and leaves comments. I think I have made some new friends since I joined Humzoo!

6) Betsy, we just love talking about Midnight Crappers. I'll admit to feeling connected with most of these folks. Know their kids names, who's sick, who's riding bikes, who's cooking awesome meals...very cool. I know less than this about some of my friends in Oregon that consistently!

7) I have no connection to Dave Heinzel. A family member told me to check out daveheinzel.com and after visiting his site and watching some of his hilarious videos, I became a fan. When I heard Dave and his friend Denny had started a new website (Humzoo) for social blogging I checked it out and became hooked. I live on the east coast and have family and friends all over the country. 2 of my children moved to the mid west over the past year. Here is how it worked for me. Son number one joined Humzoo and after reading some of his blogs I decided to write one of my own. I then told my other son about the site and he joined. Number one son's girlfriend started reading our blogs and to my delight she joined. I told my sister and brother about Humzoo and now they are planning to join...and on and on. It is a fantastic way to keep up with everyone's day to day lives through pictures and stories. Besides being a great way to stay in touch with family, it is a lot of fun to meet people from all over the country and hear different points of view.

8) I got into HumzOo after my husband came home and told me about "this guy at work that has a really funny website". I started looking and rarely ever commented, but just enjoyed the "community" that seemed to be around Dave. When there was an announcement that Dave and Denny were creating and "uber-site" where you can have your own blog and photo albums, it seemed like a great idea. I opened up shop and have had a blast ever since. It is a great alternative to all those other "personal website" pages that have too many ads and random people trying to send you pictures of, well, we will say "inappropriate images". Besides, where else can you find a "website that tastes like cake"?

13) The photographer came over last night to get some pics, and he thought it was next Friday. Can't wait! I just don't understand why he was using a disposable camera or why his car said "State Urinal-Register." Also he was about 8 years old and smelled of broccoli. Real professional operation you guys have over there.
