What Women Do to Each Other

It's sad.

We adore each other. We encourage each other. We wish to FIND more of "each other" to be close to.

Women. We're friends, sisters, daughters, and enemies.

We cry together, cheer each other on, and in the end, we sabatoge each other.

Don't get me wrong. I have some good girl friends, a wonderful mother, and some adorable sisters-in-law. They all do it.

For whatever reason, when it comes to our weight and our appearance, it's just never good enough. So we lie.

We ALL despise what the media has made us feel like is "perfect". Correct? No one really looks like that. Yes, we all know how gorgeous we would be with some airbrushing and a million bucks. Case closed.

And still, we continue to tell each other, yes I still weigh 135. I am so glad that I can snap those darn size 6's. It ain't true.

Don't get me wrong...clearly some people out there are and will be. For the rest of us, we whole-heartedly wish, and meanwhile we lie. And in the process, we discourage our "teammates" in this fight.

Can't we stoP?

1) Do you mean stop lying about our weight and size??? Or stop trying to be that unattainable image of "perfect"??

2) One joy of being "older" is that I am happy with who I am and being healthy is more important than anything else.

3) Amen to that dannie. I remember how a bad hair day could ruin my entire day when I was 12 or 13. I spent so much time worrying about the least important things. Part of that was being young, but mostly it was a lack of appreciation for living in a privileged place with a loving family that provided me with everything I could want and more. Sorry to take this blog off track, I just wanted to second dannie's comment.
