By Golly, It's WORKING!

So, first let me disgust you. This is what I look like (my "fat section") in my bathing suit (not sure why my pics are still on their sides - I thought that was fixed?? anyway...).

Now keep in mind that this time last year, this looked pretty hot on me, I am told.
Now, it just plain makes me squirm!!! Just want document what I am starting with as sort of a "holding myself to it" threat.

Gross.

That being said (shown), I think it's actually working! I am trying to mix up my routine at the gym. I am varying my cardio and including some high intensity interval training (HIIT). I am writing down every little bite that goes in my mouth. I have not had a beer since Sunday (QUITE the accomplishment in warm weather, I might add). I am trying to eat mostly lean protein and raw foods. And I am talking to myself right here!

Guess what that bastard scale did? Dropped 4 lbs.! WAHOO! I guess I have to stop calling it names for a few days. Hoping that this is not a fluke and that it is not coming back tomorrow (that would surely piss me off).

At the very least, I am mildly encouraged. At least SOMETHING has happened, and that something was in the right direction for once. Like a little kid, I will be keeping my fingers crossed on both hands the next few days!

1) Ummm I'm starting to think we are the same person? Except I don't own that bathing suit. Really our weight and goals are similar. Somewhere after "I DO" I gained 20+ pounds. I wouldn't say I'm working on loosing because that would require more dedication than I have been giving it. I am however maintaining the weight I have gained. I really wouldn't care about the weight if it were 'firm'. HA! Oh well. Thanks for the inspiration. My awesome husband says "Women should jiggle a little" which is great because I do.

2) Good luck! What's the deal with getting married and gaining weight? After half a year of marriage, I had to buy all new pants because I was busting the seams out of my old ones. Starting running and was able to lose most of it but it's a constant struggle to keep on top of it.

3) I hear ya girls! I'm in the same boat. I'd like to drop about 25 or 30 and feel better.

4) I really think the raw foods make a tremendous difference, especially if you leave out all the empty carbs (which the HARDEST thing to do.)
Congratulations!

6) Yahoo for 4 lbs! I'm on a weightloss journey myself, having gained 30 lbs since getting married (and having a kid...though she's 3 now so I think the baby weight excuse has expired). I'm still not totally on the workout bandwagon (I HATE working out) but I've been keeping track of every little thing that goes into my mouth as well and it's been working! I'm using a great website to help... www.thedailyplate.com

7) Good job! I'm down 3. And I'm hoping to lose 30 or so as well. The hard part for me is finding time to exercise. Hmmm... maybe should get off the computer.

9) I'm a new Hum-zooer (MoeKitch), so I'm happy to find another person on the weight loss kick like me...I'm hovering at 39 pounds lost since last October (thanks, Weight Watchers!) - hopefully by next week I will hit the 4-0. I remarked the other day that I had totally forgotten that I had, you know, a collarbone. Sounds like you are off to a kick-ass start. It feels good, doesn't it? Great job - keep up the hard work!

10) LOL - I just told my daughter this weekend, when she was laying on her back on the floor - "I remember when I had hip bones too!!"
