Killing Time Waiting for Pizza

2008

I ordered a Pizza the other day and since it was a true deep dish, I had to kill about half an hour of time. I took a walk and must have gotten lost because the first thing I ran into was the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Somewhere a tiny wooden butter cow is waiting.

1) Just where does one get a true deep dish pizza in Springfield?

2) I just learned of this place. I was hoping someone could guess from my photo trek.

3) Damn Joe, this is a good one. I'm using all of my internet resources to try and solve this mystery, but so far no luck. I have decided that this photo is on the west end of a building, but the reflection in the window doesn't lend many clues. I'll continue my research now...

4) I need a clue. Is that Family Video near the place where you got the pizza?

Dave - I'm gonna have to check on that. It would help if this town kept their streets going in one direction. How many streets in this town both parallel each other and cross each other. I think this is the North end of the building taken at about 5:35pm

7) Okay, I totally know where this is, but I don't know the name of the restaurant. Same area as Soccer World? I think our neighbors like their pizza. We haven't gotten it yet because we can never remember the name.

8) Sounds like this place needs a name change. Like Humzoo, a place that tastes like pizza. Seriously...if their name is this hard to remember...they need to change it. Kinda defeats the whole purpose if no one can remember your name for ordering!

9) That's correct. The name of the place is Fratello's. The pizza was great too.

11) They need a catchy slogan - Fratello's, the name everyone forgets.

And Sarah (Spike) to bake them a cool cake with their logo on top.

12) !, it's in the Soccer World complex at Lawrence and Veterans. You know, over by Strike 'N Spare West. Off of Clocktower. Near where the Buy 'N Bye used to be.

One of these days I'm going to write a blog about the former Buy 'N Bye and its awesomeness!

13) That place was awesome! I only went there once... for gum, just to check the place out, but still, so very awesome.
