Holy Crap! Canyon

As my friends lounged by the pool and hit the Red Rock Spa for facials I headed back to Red Rock Canyon for a little hiking. Hmmm...lots of choices. Gee... "Ice Box Canyon" sounds refreshing.

There were signs along the way like this ominous
rock. But did I listen, heck no!

The trail was super steep and challenging to say the least. But I'm not one to quit and I was determined to make it to the end.

Yes, this really is the trail!

There were times I wondered if I had lost my mind but I pressed on climbing up and down boulders.

Once I got to the end of the canyon I got to climb up and down again back to the car.

Definately time for a nap!

1) Not worried about flash floods? I guess it is the desert. Very awesome! Can't believe you did it alone. What if a venomous spider ate you whole?

2) I was more worried about having a boulder roll down the hill on top of me or getting my arm stuck in a crevice and having to knaw it off.
Thanks for appreciating my photos. It's really hard to take a bad photo here. Your dad is flying in tomorrow and we are off to Zion Nat'l Park tomorrow.

3) That's some trail (?)! I'd be more nervous about snakes but then my brain says snakes around most rocks unless it is below 30. I think they should have called that trail rock-climbing, not trail for hiking. Those people are serious about hiking being a challenge! Thanks for the great photos of the event!

5) You are a rock star! I love your photos but it was a good thing I wasn't with you-I would have caused an avalanche and most likely gone into cardiac arrest climbing-but then I would have been in good hands with a fellow nurse. What a beautiful area!

6) I have to tell you- I am reading this at 4:30am because I rolled over and woke myself up-see my last blog. I read this as Holy Crap-Crayons and thought you were going to write about a grand eating crayons and then crapping in multi color-I've been a witnesss to that happening with one of my own kids-who shall remain nameless:>
