So I Think I Can Dance

I come from a long line of dancing fools. When my siblings (2 brothers & 2 sisters) and I get together there is usually music and we are inevitably dancing before the evening is out. My sister lives in Florida. I try to visit her at least once a year. Every night after dinner on goes the stereo and off come the shoes. Her husband is used to it and a very good sport. He even joins in for a dance or two but then usually gives up. Robin & I don't stop until we can't breathe anymore. It must be in our blood. I remember as a teenager waiting for my parents to leave the house so that I could crank up the stereo and dance, often with a makeshift microphone in my hand. Truth be told, even now, if I am home alone one of my favorite things to do is put on my ipod and boogie.

Needless to say I am a big fan of the Fox tv show So You Think You Can Dance. The new season started last week. Yahoo! I love the show because It is an amazing showcase of genuine dancing talent. Is anyone else watching?

2) Is this the show with the three judges..... the Englishman, the annoying Marie Osmond look alike, and someone else? If so, I love to watch......obviously, I'm not a TV connosier (sp) but someone in my family likes to follow this and I"m hooked everytime I walk by and it's on. However, I dont' think I've ever had fast enough muscle twitch to move like these dancers do. If you can dance, by all means DANCE!!!!!!

3) Great exercise and good for your youth! Keep it up! Dance till the cows come home and never let anyone tell you to stop. It's a great way to get your spirits up after a tiring day.

4) I was watching last night. That's some serious dancing - and I like the judges. The show isn't slick and doesn't have that "made for tv" sliminess to it. I enjoy it.

I'm with you, Leslie, when I'm alone in the house I love to blast out my favorite music and dance all over the place. It's actually one of the best ways to get started down in my studio - makes me happy.

5) I wish I could dance! I try and love to get down and boogie, especially with my daughter. Pegi loves to boogie and it makes me smile just watching her have a good time. Davis, our 6 year old grand shows an amazing ability to boogie. He has all the hip hop thing going. Never stop dancing. I have a great print that says "Dance like no one is looking!" I try to practice whenever I can.

6) Amazing Pegi, we must be on the same wave length today. We wrote our reponses simultaneously! Pam is coming by today so I guess we are all thinking of each other.

8) I got hooked on that show last summer. I am def. watching the whole thing this year. I haven't watched this week yet. It's tivo'd and I'll probably watch tonight. I hate the brown haired lady judge, but I'll get over it. I love to watch the dancers. I'm not a dancer by any means. When I crank the music I sing. But, I def. can't keep still when I hear the music. But these dancers are awesome.

Hey... what did you think about that guy from Julliard who had tried last year too. This year he started in a cammo outfit. I kinda thought they just had a personality issue with him. He was really good.

9) Yes! I love SYTYCD. I got hooked at season 2 and it's the best summer show. I think the reason I love it so much is because of my secret dream to be a backup dancer for Britney Spears or some horrible pop star. There, I said it! Although the Zumba class is a good way to get your dance fix and not feel like a complete idiot. If you're a member of the YMCA, check it out!

10) girlcarew, I think it was his mouth that got him in trouble. He is a good dancer but a little too full of himself. I am happy about the 20 they picked. The redhead at the end should have been chosen too. What a great friend and good sport she turned out to be. I hope she tries out again next year.
