Tuesday, February 10th, 2009Nancy Grace, Scum of the Earth I don't watch good old soft focus Nancy by choice, but when we are getting the kids ready for bed, we put on CNN Headline news (muted) until we get them in bed. So I don't see the whole show, but several minutes of it a night.
This woman has pretty much been non-stop Caylee since the girl was reported missing. I'm not sure how you can have show after show for how many months now, but she does, and I'm guessing people watch the show because they want to.
One night several weeks ago (or perhaps a couple of months), she was complaining about how someone was selling T-Shirts around the whole Caylee debacle. And she had the nerve to complain that someone was profiting by using the little girls disappearance. And she did it with a straight face. Un-blanking-believable.
I wonder if she is so stupid that she doesn't realize the irony that she's been doing the same thing for years. She has done nothing but profit from other people's pain since her show started.
You make excellent points here and I agree with you completely about them. I have never seen this show and do not know who this Nancy Grace person is. I would like to ask this though. By labeling her "Scum of the Earth", is this not similar sensationalism to which this blog post takes issue?
(though I too would take exception to the label)
For some good nostalgia, search YouTube for her video with Elizabeth Smart. Unbelievable how she treated that girl, but Elizabeth struck back.
I watched a segment once where I just saw Nancy Grace laying into her reporters over really trivial stuff- a very arrogant woman, I'm afraid. It was very middle-schoolish. I can't believe she continues to have this job. She actually makes Greta Van Susteren look very good.
