Noah's First Baseball Game

It was a disaster!

The friends we were going with ... well she gave me bad information. We got to the stadium fine, got parked fine and got in fine. From there no directions or the placement of anything she told me was correct. Our seats were right behind homeplate, except they were up really high. It was too steep to take Noah up. We didn't trust that he wouldn't stumble down the stairs; and we certainly knew he would not be still or sit in his seat through the game. The amazing toddler play area that was supposedly right near our section...not only was it nowhere near our section, it was the biggest joke I've ever seen.

It was just not a good experience. I was really excited to watch the game and see the Mercy Me concert at the end. I was excited to watch Noah experience the ball park.

$33 - Tickets
$10 - Parking
$20 - Dinner
$20 - T-shirt for Noah
$8 - Water and Pretzel
$91 - Total Ball Park Experience

We showed up at the bottom on the 2nd inning. We were gone by the bottom of the 6th inning.

All I can say is that all in all, that was the single most expensive, cheap meal we've ever eaten--because that's all we got out of it. That's almost $100, 3 hours and 60 miles round trip we'll never get back.

Sorry to hear that this trip didnt go well. Maybe next time but remember what they say: A hot dog at the ball park is better than a steak at the Ritz

Ahhhhhh...the joy of being parents. Spending $91 to have a terrible time.

I really only like taking my kids to minor league games. Then if things don't go as planed, we can always leave early and it's no big loss. They are also easier with young kids, more family friendly and less expensive. I prefer to see the Cubs with just my wife or friends.

Great idea, Jef. My dad took us kids to minor league games when we were growing up and I have a lot of fond memories of those days. Didn't have to be a big league game to have big league fun!!

Nancy went to Ernie Shore Field in Winston-Salem and the team still plays there with different personnel.

Next spring we'll have to do some spring training games. Considering they are local I imagine they'll be so much easier to do with him. :)

I'm with Jef; we usually just do minor league games. What a bummer for you guys. Learning experience, though, I guess.
