I Can't Sleep

Ug. Its 12:40 and here I am . . . awake. I just can't sleep. I did goto bed about 45 mins ago, but here I am.

As I lay in bed my mind races. All I can do is make lists and think about what is going on tomorrow and what work needs to be done. The laundry needs to be done and folded before the pest control guys comes tomorrow. I can't keep from laying out landscape designs in my head. . . flower bed, grassy areas, pathway for the trash can. I set my alarm clock to go off at 6:30 am, which is late for many of you, but is early for me. Dishes need to be finished up and put away, guest bed needs made, office needs to be cleaned up and organized. I'm awake and motivated. Yet Richie sleeps. I can't do the things that need to be done (most of them) because I don't want to wake him up.

I'm a night owl; I've got more energy at night. I'm more motivated at night. I hate why I cycle like this. Richie hates it too, though he never says anything.

I just want to lay in bed, calm, quiet, peacefully fall asleep and wake a normal hour, rested and relaxed ready to face the day.

Alright, it is now 3:33am. Richie and I have both been battling what we think is a touch of food poisioning from Taco Hell. I've done approx 5 loads of laundry and cleaned the kitchen. Most of it is put away, thankfully all of it is hung or folded. No dirty dishes about and the table is almost cleaned off.

I still have some things to do in the bedroom only if I can get up in a few hours to beat the pest control guy. *sigh* Doubtful but we'll see.

I think I might try going to bed . . . again.

See...that is the problems with lists....they keep you up nights. :)

Seriously, sorry to hear you had a rough night but I tend to do likewise. Rather than toss and turn, get and and do something with the time. You aren't sleeping anyway! :) Hope you got some rest and won't be dragging all day because of the lack of sleep!

I got about 2 hours of good sleep and 1.5 hours of quazi sleep. I was awake at 6:30 and dozed on and off till Richie left at 8am. I got up and walked him to the door, put on my cleaning clothes, picked up the bedroom (stuff I couldn't do last nite), moved some boxes off the wall in the garage (for pest guy), moved folded laundry onto freshly made bed, started another load of laundry, tidied up guest bedroom and started to vacuum when the doorbell rang. I got on here to pay through BofA online checks. Now I need to go finish vacuuming before I lose my "umph".

Yep - if I can't sleep, I get up, too. My limit for just lying there is 20 minutes. And sometimes a boring computer game of Solitaire helps make me sleepy...that or a book.

I do need to do that. Get out my graph paper and just sketch it till I can make Richie help me actually measure everything. I'm thinking this fall we'll start working on it. I want to be ready to seed when its time to overseed with the winter rye.

I want a flower bed under the front window and a little edging along the drive way for plants and grass the rest of it. This pea gravel is NOT working and did I mention I HATE IT! I want my southern yard back. :-(

Sounds like a lot of work and water when it's 100+_for a month. :) I thought the rock yards were kind of cool when I visited Scottsdale. They seemed to fit the desert coloring and it certainly minimizes mowing and watering. I saw a few cacti in yards too--I guess that is too desert for a Southern gal. :)

Well, its not that I mind the desert landscaping, but our is not desert. It called "lazy, cheap contractor, piece of crap yard". A little grass, piss poor rock utilization, bad design . . . I could go on!

We have that same yard in Central Illinois! In fact, our entire subdivision is built atop an old junk yard, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were an old Chevy buried in my backyard! We've dug up soda bottles, lids, aluminum cans, vehicle parts, etc. It's scary.

I too am a list maker, it sucks when you can't wind down. I always turn to my TV shows that I am embarrassed to say I watch - I should clean the kitchen or do laundry next time!

Moore Crazies, I'm a late nite cartoon kinda gal. Usually Boomerang, sometimes cartoon movies even, A Goofy Movie or something. LOL
