Pulled the Trigger
Pulled the Trigger
The old Digital Rebel was not going to cut it for the Springfield Rewind book I'm writing, so I took a trip to Circuit City tonight and picked up the newest member of the family.
Now I just have to get busy on that book and justify the expense. :)

Don't let Mr. Shoo see this picture, please. He'll get Cannon envy.
Nice, now you're talk'n.
Every time I see a Canon, I think about a friend I had back in TN. He always joked about being "equipped with a Canon". I even cross-stitched a plaque for him for a present as a joke. :)
Nice camera. Totally jealous. The screen on the back of that thing is huge compared to mine. And that lens is really nice too. Their stock lens that they sell with most of their DSLRs is what I use the most, and it sucks. You'll be a happy boy with that thing :) Have a good time.
We will be expecting great things from your Canon! A new camera with moe applications is on my "one of these days" list.
An impressive weapon indeed. Being old school photography wise, I wish for an old school style camera with digital back. My Pentax K1000 with digital back would be perfect. I don't like all the lights, beeps and autofocus....to distracting for my little brain.
You're gonna need that Russ... we are launching a new photo-related feature later today on Humzoo. You have no reason not to participate now!
Sweet! I can't wait to see what you guys have cooked up, Denny. I think something like www.photofriday.com for Humzooers would be pretty awesome.
Oooo...new feature today! I don't think I can stand the wait!! :D
@MrsShoo - Well now that I have a Canon (Digital Rebel) to get rid of, you should probably hide his wallet. :-)
@Dave - I thought you had a 5D? And you're so good with Photoshop, you could probably do more with a Mavica than I'll do with this thing.
I have a 20D now. I would LOVE a 5D mostly because of its full-frame sensor. Justin let me check out his 5D, and the wide end of that thing is awesome. Because the 20D (and possibly 40D) use smaller chips, there's a crop factor with standard lenses. This is great for telephoto work, but it's tough to get a really wide angle shot. Anyway, that's the only thing I really want my camera to do that it can't now. I'm still very happy with mine though and don't see myself upgrading for quite some time.
One of the best purchases I made was the optional battery grip / vertical button accessory. It doubles your battery capacity, gives you a vertical shutter release button and adds about 20 points to your "pro look" street cred. The bounce flash is nice, as is the programmable remote. Accessories rule!
Yay new feature! Awesome camera, Russ.
