10 things I love right now (in no particular order):

1- Todd. I love this man. He surprises me more and more each day in his love and nurturing of our daughter. He's becoming quite the Mr. Mom. And now, when he brings Ida to work so I can nurse her, all she wants to do is stare at her daddy! She can hardly stand taking her eyes off him long enough to eat, she gives him big flirty grins and coos. I may have been demoted to "that lady who feeds me".

2- Homemade chicken and dumpling soup. I'm not one for leftovers but I've eaten this soup 5 times this week and am still happy to do so.

3-Update phone calls from good friends who are about to have babies! Go cervixes, go!

4- Ida early in the morning. She is incredibly cute, calm and content as she wakes for the day. Today it was still dark but I could see her long eyelashes batting as she softly cooed.

5- Random notes taped up in my office. A tab from a tea bag "Understanding is found through compassion". A fortune from a fortune cookie "Modify your thinking to handle new situations". And a magnet "I started at the bottom and I kind of like it here".

6 Thinking of my child growing into a companion.

7- Frosted trees and warm winter light.

8- Vern. My old lady dog friend. She's 14 , that's 98 in people years! She is showing signs of aging, losing her hearing, her sight and is pretty slow to get up these days but she is so incredibly sweet.

9- leather shoelaces.

10- Spell check. My dyslexia thanks you. I couldn't do ANYTHING without you!

Can't say that I blame Ida for not taking her eyes off her sweet daddy's face. Actually Ida is blessed with two beautiful parents, inside and out. And yes, you two are blessed with a most precious little dreamy-eyed girl! Wish we were all closer.
