"Ukraine's [truly] Got Talent"

A friend shared this with me. My son and I sat watching it and I found tears running down my cheeks. I don't think I've ever seen such a combination of stunning art, gut-wrenching sorrow, historical awareness and sheer humanity.

Kseniya Simonova is a Ukrainian artist who just won Ukraine's version of "America's Got Talent." She uses a giant light box, dramatic music, imagination and "sand painting" skills to interpret Germany's invasion and occupation of Ukraine during WWII.

I'd love to think that such a piece could win either Britain's Got Talent or America's Got Talent, but am not convinced that either David Haselhoff or Simon Cowell would feel as I do. What do you think?

I didn't watch the you tube thingy but I think I have seen this woman before. Doesn't she draw the pictures in the sand flowing from one image to another? It was pretty awesome, the one I saw.

Awesome is indeed the word. This video is well worth watching if you can find the time.
