Ten months oldDear Wyatt,
You hit the double digits on Tuesday! We have had another busy month, although this month was busy with getting back into our routines after enjoying our beach weeks last month.
This month you have really perfected pulling yourself up and are now cruising like a pro holding while holding onto the furniture. You've even started to get all fancy on us by pulling yourself up while holding a toy, reaching down for something while still holding onto the furniture with the other hand, or even holding yourself up with your elbows so that you can clap!
You are one busy boy these days. You are no longer content to just sit in our laps, you want to be doing things! You love to crawl all around - the army crawl still seems to be your method of choice, but we have definitely noticed you crawling on all fours a lot more lately. You also love to crawl up the steps (only while under our close watchful eyes, of course).
You love playing with your toys these days too. It seems like your toy pile just keeps growing! You love to bang things together, bang things on the floor or table, and play peek-a-boo. You have also recently started to rock back and forth when one of your toys plays music so it kind of looks like you're dancing.
You have started to eat more finger foods over the past month too. You have tried lots of different things at home and at daycare. You still don't really seem to be a picky eater and you definitely don't think that there is any other reason you should be in your high chair other than eating!
One of the most exciting things that has happened this month is that you are finally getting a tooth! It's your right lower bottom tooth. We first noticed it a couple of weeks ago, and it sure does seem to be coming in slowly. You haven't really seemed too bothered by it, so maybe slow and steady is the way to go with teeth! I wish that we had been able to get a picture of it, but you usually keep your little toothy goodness covered up with that big old tongue of yours!
You always enjoy hanging out with your buddies. You have gotten to hang out with your buddy Charlie several times this month. Charlie enjoys watching what you're doing and you guys enjoy playing with each other's toys. Charlie is suffering from Jumperoo exhaustion in this photo:
We are starting to see a more independent and sneaky side to you! You have this funny laugh that you use sometimes and we joke that it's your evil laugh because you tend to be up to no good when you're laughing that way. You tend to use your "evil laugh" when you're trying to mess with Pancho. Pancho is pretty much your favorite thing these days. You get so excited to see him. Pancho doesn't always have quite the same response for you just yet, except when you're eating in your high chair since you like to sneak him snacks and then he is like your best friend!
I can't believe how quickly these months seem to go with you! You certainly keep us busy! There are days when I like to imagine what it would be like to sleep in again, but I'm happy to go to bed at 9:30 on a Friday night to be well rested for your wake up call at 6:00 the next morning. (Although I would certainly not argue with a later wake up call occasionally.....)
I love you, my sweet boy!
