Registry-Macy's and Crate and Barrel
Randy and I have had registry issues from the get-go. Not so much in regard to disagreements (the bird bath story was quite the dramatization), but more so in trying to figure out what we might want or need. Every time I logged on to the registry websites, a big red flashing sign would pop up that said "LOW ITEM ALERT!!!!!!". I'm not exaggerating with the exclamation points....they really wanted to give the impression that something bad was going to happen to us if we didn't find more items.
It was also a bit difficult getting past the fact that the wedding registry itself is a pretty selfish concept. I know that many people will want to bring gifts and would appreciate having some idea of what to get. But, when somebody puts a little gun in your hand and expects you to walk around a store shooting at items and chanting "I want that, and that, and that, and that", you do start to feel a bit selfish and greedy.
In the end we officially registered at http://www.Macys.com and http://www.CrateandBarrel.com .
We are already so grateful for everyone who has rsvp'ed and just can't wait to celebrate with you!!!

1) Ha Ha! I remember feeling like that too Alison. Look at this way....Being able to choose your gifts will limit the amount of presents that end up in your 're-gift' closet. Not that I have one :)
