Same town...new gig

There has been a changing of the guard lately at work. In the last several weeks...a lot of great people have been leaving work for some great opportunities. This is the last week for our weekend sports guy who has taken in job in Texas.
I have been asked to be the interim... until they hire someone new . I will do my first sports cast on Saturday.
I'm super excited...sports anchoring is fun. Actually...when I go out in Springfield and people find out I'm a reporter, they assume I'm a sports reporter. Nope. I'm a news guy.
I have several friends who ask why. I had a sports show that I created in college. I'm a big sports lover. But...there are plenty of reasons I decided to keep sports a hobby.
Here is a great explanation from a guy who knows.
Sports jobs are hard to come by...
Being a male...there is a LOT of competition...it appears a lot of males like sports.
Plus I love story telling so that is what swayed me not to do sports.
But I pumped to get a chance this weekend!

hehe you'll be great!
We'll be watching you, Ben!!
Edit: Whoops...I see you answered this right in the blog. Still, I think there are plenty of "stories" in sports, and heavy competition is not a reason to not try.
Ben, I am bummed that I won't get to see you on the webcast for the next few weeks and darn that WICS for not putting sports on the web. Send us a tape so we can watch you in action. Good luck!!!
Russ, that video was hilarious. So painful, but so funny.
Good luck Ben!
Ajy chance you can get these broadcasted in Spain?!?!
