I'm on TV on My Day Off

So today was my day off.....where I was supposed to do some massive cleaning projects...sign a new lease....go to the bank.....lay on my couch......everything you are supposed to do on a day off.

Well at 9:30am I got a phone call asking me to work. Being in financial ruins that I am currently in...my body said no but my brain thought better of it.

Did a story on a new goodwill headquarters going in the old K's merchandise building. I'm not sure what K's merchandise is...or more like was....was it a midwest thing. But it sounded like it was a big deal. Used to sell jewlery? Sounds like Walmart gave it the final blow.

One cool part of the day...the Goodwill C-E-O wanted to know if I wanted to see the basement. Of course.....so she hit some lights and we went downstairs to a 32,000 square ft room with NOTHING in it. Kinda creepy. Reminded me of my former employer the Hartford Wolfpack....where I would enter a sports arena...and be the only person in there. Was pretty freaky. Something everyone should experience and something you will never get used to. Well....back to REGULAR work tomorrow.

1) I saw your report, Ben! Nice job!! (Yes, K's Merchandise was a neat store that sold everything from sporting goods to jewelry to toys to flannel shirts to furniture to electronics to quilts and toasters! A little bit of everything. Pretty nice quality, too. I miss it a lot.)

3) Whenever I would go to K's Merchandise with my parents, they would dump me by the video games while they roamed the store. I couldn't tell you how many games I played on their Ataris and Intellivisions.

4) We went into K's during their "Clearance Sale" and it wasn't until then that I even considered that they might have a basement. People were stomping around in the store so much that the floor was sort of bouncing, but in that scary way like, "Oh Crap, We're all going to die! This floor is going to collapse and we are all going to be sucked in with the remaining values!"
