Smart Car Mania

Since my arival in Springfield....I've covered a devastating ice storm...murders...fires...the economy.

And NOTHING has had the kind of response as this smart car piece. Very strange. It all started with a story of a couple who had a smart car last weekend. I want a smart car .

That day I recieved a few phone calls from people who were half paying attention and wanted to learn more about the car.....wanted to know the web site... Then just this week I recieved my first piece of mail that wasn't a pay check. Fan Mail

Today I was talking with Mike.....my handy dandy photog on the weekends. He asks "hey have you recieved any phone calls about the smart car?" I told him...a couple and a freaky letter.

Apparently....while I had my days off (on mon and tues) the calls flooded in. People wanted to know more about the car....where they could get one....how much it costs. One person asked Mke "Ya know that commercial with Ben Handelman in it about smart cars....where can I get one?"

Well it wasn't a commercial......at least it wasn't meant to be....
