R.I.P 96 Volvo
The following is a conversation I had with my brother tonight:

Bro: I have bad news...
Me:ummm...ok
Bro: It's about the volvo....it has gone to that automobile shop in the sky
Me: Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Apparently the fuel something or other has killed the car just short of 200,000 miles.
That car was my first car after my brother left for college. It provided alot of great memories.

I hit two deer with that vehicle...
I got that car stuck in the mud...at 3am...while attempting to drive up a steep hill of grass....at my high school.
I fell asleep at the wheel 1 mile from my house...at a stop sign...and hit my senior citizen next door neighbor. He was taken away in an ambulance even though I hit him going an estimated....less than 5 miles per hour.

Somehow after all that it made it Omaha, NE from Connecticut. I don't care what the mechanic says...I think homesickness was the final blow.

I'll miss you 1996 Volvo. Thanks for the memories

1) Maybe you could get a Smart Car. I saw a commercial the other day about them...

3) r.i.p. I remember when my first car died too. Like losing a member of the family.

4) Ahhhh yes I have memories of that Volvo too but most of them involve my wallet shrinking. I have to claify that when you hit the nice senior citizen after falling asleep at the stop sign, it was his car not him that sustained the damage. He only went to the hospital because you scared the crap out of him. If there is one memory that stands out the most it was opening the trunk to look for something and finding about 200 empty beer cans. I believe you were several years away from the legal drinking age. I'm sure you said you were keeping them for a friend.

Good bye blue Volvo. You had nine lives and survived 2 teenage drivers. We will not forget you.

6) Yes. My perspective is that now that he can drink legally there are probably 400 cans in the trunk...ha ha

7) Revenge is listening to my son have a "discussion" with his 16 year old about drinking and sitting there quietly with a smile on my face as he looks over at me and says , "Don't you say anything, Mom"
