Weird Al on Stage with ZZ Top

Ok....it's a misleading headline. But the Illinois State Fair has announced their line up for this summer. It is as follows:

Saturday, Aug. 9: Weird Al Yankovic, comedian and song satirist.

*Sunday, Aug. 10, Huey Lewis and the News, who had a number of rock/pop hits in the 1980s.

*Friday, Aug. 15: Classic rockers ZZ Topp with country artists Brooks and Dunn.

*Saturday, Aug. 16: Vanessa Hudgens from "High School Musical."

*Sunday, Aug. 17: Country performers Trace Adkins and Trent Tomlinson.

I believe I may miss the opening weekend of the fair if everything pans out with a London reunion in Michigan.....so there goes seeing Weird Al in person.....not sure what that would be like.

Maybe I'll attend ZZ Topp and Brooks and Dunn....so I can rock out to some ZZ and get a true feel of the Midwest with a country music show.

Any suggestions?

1) Actually, the best part of this year's lineup are the country artists; however, the highest attended will be Vanessa Hudgens - she's a popular gal these days! And since I've already seen all of the country stars, I'd go see Hugh, if I could. Haven't seen him for about 10 years, and he puts on a good show (better in San Francisco).

PS. Though I certainly am, I'm pretty sure most Midwesterners aren't country-music fans...

2) Huey Lewis and the News! Rock on! I didn't know ol' Huey was still alive, or the News for that matter. I would love to see them. Or Weird Al. Wonder if he'll do White & Nerdy live.
