Ever heard of Quinnipiac?

Nomal conversation in the Midwest

"Where did you go to school?"
Me: "Why the great Quinnipiac Universtiy of course"
Midwesterner: Qwini-pee-who?"
Me: "Eh, some school in Connecticut"

I usually get a random response a week or two later
"Hey saw your school on CNN....you have a poll or something"
"Yes...we have a political poll"

Every March I await for the Bobcats of Quinnipiac to make a miracle run in basketball.....win the league....win the play in game....and beat a #1 team come March MAdness to rank among the greatest sport upsets of all time.

Quinnipiac still has yet to even dance.....adding another year to my misery with a bad loss last night in the first round of the league tourney.

Fortunatley for me.......Quinnipiac has a decent hockey team. And my hopes are they make a miracle run in the ECAC hockey championships.
Currently coming out of computer: 5 goals in under 5 minutes.....they lead Brown 5-1
HOPE

The women's basketball team is the number one seed in their tourney which starts tomorrow. MORE HOPE.

I am hoping by the end of this week SOMEONE from Illinois will hear of my former school.
My Avatar is dedicated to Quinnipiac this month. Go Bobcats.

Of Journalism Note:
New War Memorial in Lincoln expected in May....I know....slow news day.
But.....always fun to go up to Lincoln. Very cool town square and Court House. When people ask me from home....what do you find the biggest difference of the midwest.
My usual response: Well besides corn......they have lots of REALLY cool Court Houses

3) I've heard of Quinnipiac. Isn't that what they sell me on TV, with that old dude and chick who are hanging out in separate bathtubs, holding hands, outside on some mountainous resort? Something like: "when the mood strikes, make sure you're ready. Ask your doctor about Quinnipiac today."
