Away on Business

I'm currently in a hotel suite in Lincolnshire Illinois...about 25 miles north of Chicago. My good friend Pat is in town (by in town I mean 3hours and 45 minutes north of Springfield) on a business trip...so I am being a parasite and taking advantage of his company. Free breakfast....free dinner...and free drinks from a kegerator down stairs.

Last night I drove up here and my old college roommate Rafal drove in from Rockford. The three of us drove to downtown Chicago and hit up the Monday night life.

We met up with one of Pat's Yale buddies who lives downtown and we went to a big pub. Watched the Penguins win in a third overtime. Had a few drinks (which made my wallet explode)...and then walked into this snazzy nightclub. The funny part was we were all dressed like bums. But it being a Monday night...they would have let homeless people in to dance for free.

The place was enormous...and there were about 5 people inside. After Pat hit the dance floor and started snapping like he was in West Side Story we headed back to the car.

We realized he had left the windows down in the car...with my GPS sitting on the dash...and we were parked next to a bail bonds place. Nothing was missing. Niiiice. Now I'm bumming around the hotel. Pat and I were suppose to attend a white sox game tonight...but I think Mother Nature has stolen that experience from us.

These business trips are tough.

1) Sounds like you're having a rough go of it, Ben. Enjoy being away from Springpatch and our second round of storms. (No sirens this time, thank goodness!!)
