Golf just took up half my day
I am a big fan of underdogs. That’s why I was very upset when Tiger hit a birdie on the 18th green in yesterdays beautiful us open. When he hit it I knew that was it for my boy Rocco who is now getting creamed by Tiger in an 18 hole playoff.
TV golf is one of my favorite things to do on a day off. So relaxing.
Next week is the Traveler's Golf Championship outside of Hartford...the only PGA Tour event I've been to (and several times). The course is suppose to have one of the best finishing holes on the tour due to it's stadium like seating bowl.

The tournament used to be called the Greater Hartford Open before falling on rough financial times. It was about to get the axe when Buick came in for the save. That had murmurs Tiger Woods might one year play the event. (He never goes due to the usually horrible weekend right after a major). Buick has backed out and Traveler's...an insurance company...now has naming rights. I am kind of upset I'm missing it this year due to the whole me being in Illinois...
Any golf fans out there that have a fav. tournament?

1) UPDATE: TURNED OF tv when Roco was down by 3.....gainst the worlds number one.....now it is tied up....LET'S GO ROCCO!!!!!
2) this is an unbelievable finish!
3) Wake me up when baseball is on tomorrow. Besides, I don't think anyone really watches golf anymore.
4) SUDDEN DEATH!
5) My brother in law came round my house during lunch with a new video tape so he could record and watch it later. I don't watch golf but I think I might tune in next time because I think I caught glimpse of some grass that was growing on one of the fairways.....it grabbed my attention like nothing can in that situation.
6) HELLS YEAH DAVE! That's what I'm talking about!!!
7) Maybe golf could be made more interesting if sudden death meant just that.
8) I'm with Dave!! Gold reminds me of watching the National Spelling Bee competition...actually, I kind of like watching those.
9) i loved watching it today!
10) I think the Golf Channel was invented so people who had trouble sleeping could finally get some drug-free rest : ) I've never been able to watch golf, live or on TV...I think my Dad ruined it for me (see my blog for further details). I do respect the game, but I don't have the patience for it...especially to watch it. But when I want to take a nap, a good golf tournament does the trick every time!
11) My sister and BIL actually TIVO golf on the golf channel that they pay money to subscribe to. Yes, there are people out there watching, but I'd rather walk on hot coals. Now tennis...there's a game to watch!
