If I Die...it might as well be in a black hole

A new atom smasher set to turn on in August could be the end of our planet...

I had heard about this project before and cnn wrote an article about it today. Scientists have created a machine to find new dimensions. One scientist believes the chance of the machine causing global disaster is about one in 50-million. I sometimes play mega millions where I have a one in 175 million chance of winning the big bucks.

Nice to know there is a greater chance of dieing in a black hole than becoming filthy rich. sigh.

1) Do you think we could convince them to play with this blackhole thingy in the next couple weeks or so? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have to teach summer school anymore if the planet was in a state of disaster...

2) I think the 1 in 50 million was an arbitrary figure meant to reassure us all that there is an extremely negligible chance of this happening. The chances of you winning a lottery are a little less subjective.

4) I wonder what the odds of you winning the big bucks one day, then the Earth turning into a black hole the next would be?

7) Wait, you play the lottery? At least if the Earth is sucked into a black hole, there'll be fewer morons in the universe. :)

8) I play $2 per week with a coworker...one dollar on scratch offs....one on megamillions. I like to donate to the education of millions of children....it's my way of giving back.

9) Scott, I can't figure out if you're trying to call Ben a moron for playing the lotto or not?
