The Cardinals and a Clown Bar

On Tuesday I recieved a phone call from my roomate Steve asking me if I wanted to go to a baseball game in St Louis.

Free ticket..WOOHOO...So I drove down to Taylorville to meet up with my roomate Steve....and his coworkers Michelle and Brandon.

After a quick food stop.

We were in Busch stadium!

Out of the four of us...only Michelle really liked either of the two teams playing. Mets and Cards.

After watching about six innings we decided to go down to the bar to throw away all of our money on 7.50 beers. I think a cerain humzoo bunny has been here before.

After about an inning or so we struck up a conversation with a Cardinal fan from St Louis named Bob

Bob offered us a round of drinks at the Hilton after the game.
A short walk and a free carnival ride....

We made it to the Hilton. As we walked in I looked to the corner of the bar and could not believe my eyes....
Big shoes.....a big nose.....and sitting alone....a clown. Steve got pretty excited.

We quickly requested a balloon animal. Fritz seemed pretty nice....and made one for us....

Then he got creepy....

And walked out.

That was all we needed to end out night. We thanked Bob for our drink and headed home!

1) Looks like a fun night. The clown does creep me out though. One of these days I am going to a Yankees game. It's shameful that I have never been considering the fact that I live with such a die hard fan. I am going to see ther Torrington Twisters play a Domincan Republic team Monday night. not exactly Yankee Stadium but it should be a good time anyway.

2) I love that your friend wore a Cubs jersey to a Cardinals game when the Cubs weren't even playing there. Did he take some heat for it?

3) Not that I'm a baseball fan at all, but wouldn't anyone in a Cubs jersey take heat for that??

4) He did get a few friendly jests.....got some high fives as well..to be honest...I was amazed how little crap he got. If that was a yankees jersey in Fenway...not sure it would have gone over so nice.

Midwesterners are very friendly.

5) I'm surprised, too. Cardinals fans usually get a few jabs in. A few years ago, I wore a Cubs jersey to an Oakland Athletics home game. You'd think I was on "America's Most Wanted."
