Biblical Flooding in Louisville

This morning, we got about 6 inches of rain in 90 minutes. The storm was wonderful to listen to laying in bed, but when I left the house and tried to get to work, I had to drive around for about an hour, avoiding flooded roads, and still couldn't get to work.

My office was basically stranded on an island, and I wasn't going to drive through standing water on the road to get there. So I just turned around and went home for a few hours.

I am back at work now, but we are going to have strong storms all day. I just hope I can get home this afternoon.

Here are some photos from the local news websites...

That's a lot of rain--wish we could have about 1/2 of it if not more!! Hope things settle down soon and you can get home without a kayak!

I know some stormwater engineers that can help. Of course, after the rains. The only time I was in Louisville, they had signs posted around the city highlighting the Great Flood.

Has Rick Patino walked on the water, yet? These type pictures were on Fox News this afternoon. I guess all you can do is grin and bare it. Ten years ago Hurricane Fran dumped 10" inches of rain on the county where I live and the pictures looked very much the same.

Hahaha. Yes, Rick Patino parted the waters early yesterday. It was a beautiful moment.
