Stupid People

At lunch today, I took my car in for an alignment & tire rotation. While I was sitting in the lobby waiting for my ride, I saw some really stupid and careless actions take place.

In the lobby, there was a cardboard box that had been designated for a canned food collection. Kudos to the tire shop for making the effort. Too bad their customers are too stupid to not totally ruin the concept.

The box was sitting in the lobby, underneath a sign that read "Canned Food Drop" with an arrow pointing down to the box. The box itself even had the charity's logo printed on it, in full color.

You can't really tell because of the glare, but you would have to be a moron to miss it. Well, there were some morons up in that tire shop today.

As I sat in the waiting room, I saw THREE SEPERATE PEOPLE walk by the box and throw their trash into it.

One lady threw away a used kleenex
A guy dropped in his empty Dr. Pepper can
Another brilliant looking patron walked in the front door, snapped off a pair of dirty rubber gloves, and dropped them right into the box. Then they fell on the floor, so the guy actually bent down to pick them up and put them BACK into the food box. All apparently without noticing that THIS IS NOT A TRASH CAN.

People make me so mad.

*Update*
I just got a call from the tire place. Rather than hearing that my car is ready to be picked up, they kindly let me know that one of the technicians accidentally snapped a bolt off the tire mount, so my car is inoperable, and I can't pick it up until they order the new bolts and put my tires back on.

Are you kidding me?

How do you screw up a tire rotation?

1) They are not going to charge you for anything now right? That is riddiculous. Oh, I hate stupid people too.

2) They will probably end up charging me for the alignment, which will make me a little mad. I never have the guts to call people out on those things though.

3) They shouldn't charge you for that either. You get the rotation free because they screwed it up. And you get the alignment free because of the inconvenience of not having your car. And if they're smart, they'll throw in some free stuff for the future to make sure they don't lose you as a customer. I'd insist on not paying anything and assure them that you will be telling everyone you know about your experience. That line usually gets them to play nicely.

4) the "i would like to speak to your supervisor" line usually earns some (well-deserved) free stuff.

5) I would send them a bill for your Lamborghini car rental. How long do you have to be without your car?

6) I don't know, some places don't care. Terra Bella in Chatham, IL totally ruined my hair last June- turned it an orange/gold color & totally fried it!

They told me that they didn't care if I told people what happened or not or how I was treated by them b/c they had enough clients to make money from.

True story! Read more about it on my blog.

9) Yeah, so after living a little over 42 years now, I've found that stupid people do not deserve much respect, and neither do folks that cannot do their jobs properly. I'm agreeing with Courtney on this one - let 'em have it Pissed A'Barista!! Don't take crap from anyone.

10) It always amazes me how many stupid people there are in this world; and it scares me to think that these same stupid people are driving on the same streets I drive!!

11) Some people are beyond stupid. Some are just absolutely rude, too. I mean, really. They couldn't tell that box was a food collection? Appears to be a case of stupid was a side of rude and classless.

12) Alright guys. I'll stick it to 'em.

I will be sitting here at my desk today, working up the cojones to TELL THEM OFF if they try to charge me a dime.
