Update: OPERATION: Vegas 2012

OPERATION: Vegas 2012 The time has come and here are my results:

I FINISHED the Louisville Triple Crown of Running, and I have the tee shirt to prove it! I did really well sticking to the plan and finishing all three races. My total triple crown time was 5:00:56 (which may seem like a long time, and believe me IT FELT LIKE A LONG TIME) but I did it, and I am darn proud of myself.

To celebrate my achievement, I will be running in the Las Vegas Komen Race for the Cure 5K on May 5, which is THIS SATURDAY. Afterwards, I will spend the weekend celebrating in VEGAS, BABY!

As of my weigh-in this morning, I've lost 14 pounds. That's short of my goal but I am not giving up and I am still working!

Please support me in my run this weekend. Click the link below to go to my personal race page. Thanks to everyone who has already donated. Your support means alot to me.

How is the money raised from the Race for the Cure spent?
Up to 75 percent of the Komen Southern Nevada Race for the Cure's net income stays in Southern Nevada to fund local screening, treatment and education programs for the medically underserved. The remaining 25 percent is dedicated to the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure Grants Program, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research. Thanks to people like you, in 2011, the Komen Southern Nevada Affiliate was able to grant $725,000 to local community programs in our six county service area. This year we are aiming even higher! If every 2012 Race participant raised an average of just $125, we could raise over $1.8 million. Imagine the impact that can make on our community.

Congratulations! Glad to see you back on Humzoo.

Wish that you would come to Raleigh when they have theirs. They are rounding up teams and donations all year long. Don't hold me to it, but I believe it is run either in June or in the Fall. Two weeks ago, NC State had their annual Kay Yow Spring Football Game and raised over $30,000 for Breast Cancer Research, in the last three years this event has raised in excess of $100,000 for Cancer Research.
