I'm a Humdinger
I sprung for the upgrade. HOLLA!
But now I am torn. At first, I wasn't going to switch my blog over to humzoo, since I am relatively happy with blogger.com. But the more I think about it, I am all, "Why the heck not?"
I am especially torn now because daveheinzel.com, the site that is bigger and better than my life, is switching over to humzoo in the extremely near future.

See, look how torn I am
WHAT TO DO!!!
There are a couple of features about blogger.com that I still really like:
-Ability to edit the date of your blog, so I can post-date something and pretend I wasn't online at work
-All the widgets, and how easy it is now to add lists, links, pictures and random sidebar items to the front page (i.e. My Aqua Teen Hunger Force Homeland Security Advisory System)
-Ok, there really aren't that many features of blogger that humzoo doesn't also have, but those two are important.
So... I will be seriously considering the switch while simultaneously multi-tasking actual work-related items.
Wish me luck. Or give me advice. Or harass me until I switch.
It's just whatever.

A. Awesome!
B. I hear all the cool kids are doing it. Don'tcha wanna be cool?
C. Dude, it's Dave friggin' Heinzel and Denny home skillet Deaton.
D. Seeing what these guys have done so far, give it time. I think this site will soon be chalked full of widgets, glitter graphics, talking advertisements, and maybe a blogroll. In other words, whatever you think you're missing now will soon be here. Bike mileage page anyone?!
E. I am not moving Gotshoo over, but I've created a secondary Gotshoo that is nothing but computer coding nerd love.
F. I own the domains iloveanerd.com and iloveageek.com. I have no idea what do do with them.
G. It's much easier to comment on your Humzoo page than your blogger page because blogger requires me to figure out a captcha puzzle every time.
H. Howdy-ho former childhood neighbor.
I. I got to get back to work.
D. I love glitter graphics!
E. Does that mean I don't have to read nerd stuff on gotshoo anymore?
F. Wow. You need a new hobby.
G. Dude, if you're not a member of humzoo, you have to do captcha too.
H. Sup
I. I don't. Our merch system is down, so I'm just chillin'
Shoo, please redirect your domain names to humzoo.com. Thanks in advance!
First of all Betsy, thanks for setting up a site and upgrading. That will at least pay for Denny's current outing to look for office space. I'm sure he will be stopping at the nearest Piggly Wiggly for some beef jerky, Mr. Pibb and a large box of candy-coated cashews.
Secondly, Denny and I spent an ungodly amount of time planning this site and discussing every feature in meticulous detail. One of our most important goals was to include everything necessary to publish blogs and photos, but not to include features that either complicated the process or just added an unnecessary layer of functionality. This will be our driving force in the future as well.
Another goal of ours was to keep things as consistent as possible, both on one site and across all Humzoo sites. We felt that doing this would help people surf around from site to site and know exactly what to expect on each site, even if they had never seen it before. The community experience on Humzoo is something we value quite a bit, and we want to encourage as much cross-site browsing as possible.
Denny and I have talked about a very large number of features that we might be able to add in the near future, but each feature will have to prove its own worth before we add things willy-nilly. We have discussed customizable blog published dates, blogrolls, home page panels, a bike stats page (like the one on daveheinzel.com - which, by the way Shoo, will remain intact for now), customizable themes, etc. I would say it's not really that we don't have enough time to add these in, it's just a matter of starting small and growing in whatever direction makes sense. If that makes any sense.
Sorry for the long-winded comment. Just wanted to say that Denny and I treat this site like our first child (which I know sounds creepy on several levels). We read every blog, see every photo and read every comment. So please keep letting us know what you would like to see us add.
I am at the Piggly Wiggly right now. Are we running low on Mt Dew at our virtual office? They are running a special and I could pick up a few cases for the virtual fridge. Also, do you need more PEZ for your life-size dispenser? Just let me know, I have my bag phone on me. Holla fool!
Betsy, so sorry we just hijacked your blog. We're outta here like hot wings at an office party.
Dave, I totally see where you're coming from, and by all means, I think you guys have created something super-sweet here at humzoo.
I just have this "packrat" issue where it's really hard for me to get rid of things I've had for long periods of time. Like t-shirts from high school and pieces of furniture from childhood.
And just to touch on the spell-checker comment above -- many browsers have incorporated their own inline spellcheck systems. For this reason, you will not see one coming from us. We recommend using Firefox or Safari for anyone who needs this feature. Not sure if IE has spell check though - anyone?
