Good Weekend for Sports
This weekend was a sports-stravaganza for me and the Robbs. Friday, we enjoyed the Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs http://www.humzoo.com/betsyradish/blog/35/ and Saturday we decided to watch the Derby from home, where it's nice and dry and you can wear your pajamas.
Sunday, though... Sunday was the DAY for sports!
After we cashed in Robbie's winnings from the horse races Sunday Morning (a whopping $16.80), we watched the Pittsburgh Penguins take on the NY Rangers in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. It was do-or-die for the Rangers. If they lost this one, they would be eliminated from the playoffs and the Pens would advance to the Eastern Finals against the Philly Flyers (boo).
Sidney Crosby and the Pens played strong through 2 periods, but gave up 2 precious goals early in the third to tie the game. But the Flightless Birds would not be defeated! In thrilling overtime fashion, Marian Hossa (assisted by Sidney Crosby) came through with a gorgeous goal to propel the Penguins to a WIN!!!!
Good Good times. I am sincerely hoping that Robbie can tap some of his connections in the 'burgh to get us to a playoff game. That would be INCREDIBLE.
I will be wearing a shirt that says, "Sid, will you be my BF?"
After the Penguins' Triumph, it was on to Sunday night baseball. A friendly HumzOo wager with SallyPants was on the line for the Cards/Cubs series, and they were tied at 1-1.
The Cardinals managed to pull it out, even after some frightening jams the Cardinals pitching staff created for themselves. Derek Lee was snuffed out and reduced to a couple of shallow pop flys, and Lou Lou Pinella just looked mad.
It was a great series, and all the HumzOo Cubs Fans have shown awesome sportsmanship!

Betsy, that picture is hilarious. But I would like to point out that Adam the Cub Fan must have one large package (maybe as big as Will's?). Apparently the loin cloth or diaper (or whatever that is) is too small to cover up all his junk since an additional rectangular shape is needed. Or maybe he's got some anatomy problems.
Of course the game Shoo and I went to was the one where the Cardinals lost. That was a disappointment, but they took the series!!
Mrs. Shoo, that is the same game my dad went to. He was bummed.
Sally- I put the black box there first, but then I decided he needed a loin cloth instead. I left the black box there because I thought it looked kinda funny.
