Bringin' the NASCAR
In a world where golf is king...
It's been a weird transition so far from working in NASCAR to working for the PGA. The people are different, the work is different, the clients are different, the surroundings are different...
It's just a little Twilight Zone-ish to try and fake my way through a day meeting with clients and pretend like I know diddly poo about golf.
This week has been hectic, and I needed something to make me feel more at home.
So I brought in something to decorate my cube in the office here at Valhalla Golf Club. It's a little away from the norm, and it certainly isn't an artist rendition of Tiger on the 18th tee at the 04 Championship...

My co-worker came up to help me hang this glorious piece at my desk, and wrinkling his forehead exclaimed, "Honey, this ain't NASCAR anymore!"
Smiling, pointing to my head, I replied, "It is up here my friend..."
You can take the girl out of racing, but you can't take the racing out of the girl...
Boogity.

So basically, I go from sport to sport planning fan-related events.
I started at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.
Moved to Minor League Baseball (worked for a few teams)
Then transitioned to NASCAR.
Now I am with the PGA at the Ryder Cup...
Who knows what's next... But if anyone's hiring, I will need a job after my contract is up with the PGA :)
I will be working on all the details for "Humdinger's Ball" over the next few weeks.
Actually, you know what would be a better idea? We should have a Hundinger's Reunion at Lebowski Fest this summer. Dave? Denny? Your thoughts?
I'm sure Betsy can come out every couple hours and teach us some tail gate games from her days in Nascar.
I will have to secure some huge muscly bouncers to make sure none of you try to get inside though.
(But don't worry, I will sneak out some bubbly every few minutes)
