MLB 2022 Game #10: Cardinals vs. Brewers

Back to Milwaukee this evening for a matchup of the top two teams in the National League Central. Tonight the first-place Milwaukee Brewers (39-30, .565) will host the second game of a four-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals (38-31, .551).

The Cardinals are sending 26-year-old Jack Flaherty (0-0, 6.00 ERA) back to the mound. Flaherty started the 2022 season on the injured list, but made his debut on June 15 against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He earned a no-decision after pitching three innings and allowing two earned runs.

Milwaukee will counter with 30-year-old Chi Chi Gonzalez (0-0, 7.71 ERA). Gonzalez earned no-decisions in both of his starts this season. He faced the Toronto Blue Jays on June 3 and the Tampa Bay Rays on June 11.

Fun Fact #1: The last time I saw the Cardinals and Brewers face each other was on September 4, 2021. Milwaukee won, 4-0.

Fun Fact #2: The first time I attended a National League Championship Game was Game 2 of the 2011 NLCS. St. Louis throttled Milwaukee, 12-3, to tie the NLCS at one game apiece.
